Empowering Women through Modest Fashion

The liberation of women in fashion is a wild history. From layers and layers of cage like garments all the way to the cut-outs in leotards, women have had many ups and downs in being able to express themselves through fashion. With the growing conversation around modest apparel being represented and accessible, we’re learning that what is one woman’s liberation in fashion may be another woman’s hindrance. The Somalian-born sisters of Fllumaé felt just that and created their brand to empower any and every woman, believing that fashion should be limitless. This season, the Fllumaé collection was inspired by women of the 70’s who fought to be able to choose for themselves in how they dressed and in what they could do. They fused feminine and masculinity by combining hardware-like accessories to flowing ruffled dress and velvety pant suits studded with flower embellishments.

We have shirt collars and pants, skirts and dresses to show a powerful masculine touch to our pieces. The tone is bold, powerful colors: emerald, purple, pinks, blue -- it’s a beautiful fusion when it comes together.

With their motivation being that no woman is left behind, the sisters of Fllumaé want to share one simple and beautiful message:

You can make an impact and create change without compromising your identity. Fashion has no faith, color, or shape. We want to make all women feel their very best.

You can see the rest of their collection on their Instagram and shop their collection at Fllumaé.
