Florals and a Blazer

If I had to name one fashion piece as my style staple it would be a blazer. Followed by sneakers and a hat. This is an outfit I have had on repeat since I bought this blouse from H&M in 2017. The blazer was purchased from Forever21 back when I lived in Utah in 2015. Buying this blazer felt like such a big fashion move for me at the time. So glad I made the purchase and that I took care of it because this $24.99 fast fashion piece has lasted me a long time and I don’t see getting rid of it anytime in the future.

My tip for styling a busy patterned blouse — choose a color or two from the pattern to pair it with. In the case of these two outfits, I’m obsessed with the baby blue found in the birds and the oxblood from the centers of the flowers. I love the orange and the sage green as well, but where the pattern falls, I wanted to keep that spot of orange and green central. I did bring a bit of that green outside of the pattern with this Olive and June mani. It’s all about the right balance of colors for me. Styling the beige and pink with green would be typical because pink and green are complimentary colors and I’m here to create unexpected color schemes. I do love pink and green though so one day I’ll do it, but with the right green.

So here are two looks with the base being the beige blazer and a pink floral blouse. One look is casual with sneakers and a beanie, making this outfit appropriate for the cold weather. The second look (alas, I didn’t photograph the whole look, but I’m wearing skinny jeans and a pair of black loafers) is a bit more dressy, good for a GNO or date night. Or for an outing alone like an artist date. Well, both looks are appropriate for that because I was feeling myself in both outfits and you need that vibe when on an artist date. You’re exuding creativity to fill your creative well!
