Fall & Evergreen FAshion
Farmer's Market Haul
This morning, after doing yoga, the kids and I headed over to the farmer’s market. We’ve been waiting for good weather to grab some peaches and after three thwarted attempts, we woke up to sunshine and immediately headed out the door lest we miss the opportunity due to another swift summer storm.
Time for New Glasses
It’s time for new frames! I’ve admired Jenna Lyon’s glasses style for so long now and her style was my aim when I did Warby Parker’s try-home service.
And The School Year Wraps Up
This was the first normal-feeling school year since the pandemic. We stopped wearing masks, I volunteered more at my kid’s school, and summer camps have been added to my schedule. I’m finally experiencing the normalcy of parenting elementary-age kids.
A Fashion Reminder
My love for pairing sneakers with a dress began when I was a sophomore in high school. I was styling some items; a pair of small-flare jeans, gray Converse with pink trim, a red thrifted fine-knit cardigan, and an abstract floral tube top dress with an asymmetrical hem were laid out on my bed and I knew I had something.
A Chill Spring
As the weather warms and the days get longer, I feel my body begin to release the tension of the winter season. And that release manifested in spring cleaning projects and the unearthing of my dresses and other light and flowy clothes. I’m ready to chill, but alas, it is early spring in the midwest and the weather is, literally, still chill.
Lunch Date Outfit
This was the outfit I put together for a lunch date with Jordan and a friend. It’s been a while since I’ve made lunch plans with a friend. I believe the last time I made lunch plans was late mid-pandemic.
Sweaters & Hats
When it’s the season of sweaters and all that winter gear, I make sure to play around with layers to keep it fun and I throw on my favorite evergreen accessories — necklaces and felt hats. Here are five variations.
A Gentle Resolution
On New Year’s Eve I didn’t dress up, light fire crackers, and participated in conversations that bled into one. I clank wine glasses with sparkling cider, dress in my robe, and I was in bed by 11:49. Jordan and I laugh that we almost made it to midnight. I was tired and I expected I would enter the new year that same very way.
