This morning, after doing yoga, the kids and I headed over to the farmer’s market. We’ve been waiting for good weather to grab some peaches and after three thwarted attempts, we woke up to sunshine and immediately headed out the door lest we miss the opportunity due to another swift summer storm.

Celebrating this day is a complicated thing. Today you may find floating through social media statements that this country was not built on freedom. I think of those who were brought here, enslaved. I think of those whose lands were taken away. There are those who are grappling with being a non-consensual American.
