Friday Ramblings and a Casual OOTD
Shall I share my musings from the week?
I think so. It will make for good, consistent, and easy content for every Friday.
So about this casual OOTD, the colors came nicely together. You know when you just follow that impulse to wear a certain item without questioning and it actually looks good together? That was this outfit. And it was comfortable too.
My favorite details of the look – the collar of the white tee poking just above the collar of the green sweater. Layers. Mmmm Layers.
The gold necklace and the gold of my belt buckle. A touch of gold makes a casual outfit look intentionally put together. It is a touch of sophistication.
I wore this outfit to the public library. Did you know that you can borrow current magazine issues from the public library!?! This is amazing news for me because I can spend up to $75 on magazines and one bookstore visit. I blame British Vogue.
I feel myself approaching a burn out. Has your sensitivity to burn out been heightened since the pandemic? I appreciate these posts on the matter:
When I’m not running on fumes I need to end my night watching something stupid. Jordan asked if the following shows are stupid, which I all disappointedly said no to:
A Jim Gaffigan stand up
Big Mouth
The Office Super Fan episodes
We ended up watching Bridgerton, but I really wanted to watch ABC’s exclusive interview with the Kardashians. There’s something about paparazzi philosophizing about that family that makes it the right low mental energy content I need at the end of a hard-worked workday.
These are some new accounts I discovered this week. Here’s to challenging the normative standards we’ve been taught.
Lastly, today I’m launching a Kickstarter campaign with my friends, writer Bryson Alejandro, and photographer, Rachel Ostler. Together we are creating a children’s book on diversity and inclusion. I will be combining my illustrations with Rachel’s photographs, creating a unique and fun book that will allow children and adults to engage with and appreciate the beauty of everyday people. This book will include people of color, LGBTQ+ people, people with various abilities, and people of all ages and faiths. We would appreciate your donations as they will allow us to fairly pay the talent who will model for our book. Learn more about our project here.
Happy Friday and be sure to get some good rest this weekend!
Below is how I clip my hats down to keep them from blowing off my head and onto the streets (cue image of any persons who chase an object in the wind — we don’t want to be that). The clips are from Nat & Noor and the bucket is from Gigi Pip. The Riza is a Gigi Pip affiliate and receives commissions from sales made through links.
